HOW WE HANDLE YOUR DETAILS

your info, looked after

Privacy Policy

Solitary Islands Resort collects only what we need to look after your booking and your stay: here's the full picture.

Solitary Islands Resort (383 North Street, Wooli NSW 2462) is committed to protecting your personal information and handling it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using our website or staying with us, you consent to the practices described here.

What we collect

We only collect personal information that we need to run the resort and look after your stay:

  • Identity & contact details: your name, phone number, email and address when you book, enquire or join our mailing list.
  • Booking & stay details: dates, accommodation type, who's staying (including ages of children), vehicle details, pet details and any special requests.
  • Payment details: card details held securely on file via our booking and payment providers, plus ID presented at check-in.
  • Communications: messages you send us by email, phone, social media or our contact forms.
  • Website usage data: pages visited, device and browser information collected through cookies and analytics tools.

How we use it

  • To take, manage and confirm your bookings, process payments and provide your accommodation and resort activities.
  • To contact you about your stay: confirmations, payment reminders, arrival information and anything that affects your booking.
  • To keep the resort safe and run it well: guest registration, wristbands, incident records and facility management.
  • To send you news, offers and events you've asked to hear about. You can opt out at any time.
  • To meet our legal obligations and improve our website, services and guest experience.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We only share it where it's needed to deliver your stay:

  • Our booking, payment and reservation platform providers, who process bookings and card payments on our behalf.
  • Booking agents and partner websites (such as BIG4) where you've booked through them.
  • Service providers who help us operate (IT, email, marketing and website analytics) under confidentiality obligations.
  • Government agencies, emergency services or law enforcement where the law requires or permits it.

Cookies & analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, keep the booking process working smoothly and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Analytics data is collected in aggregate and doesn't personally identify you. You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site (like online booking) may not work as smoothly without them.

Marketing

If you've stayed with us or signed up to our mailing list, we may send you news, special offers and what's-on updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by emailing reception@solitaryislandsresort.com.au or calling (02) 6649 7519. No hard feelings.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access and disclosure, including secure booking and payment systems, restricted staff access and secure storage. We keep personal information only as long as it's needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then destroy or de-identify it.

Access, correction & complaints

You can ask us at any time to access or correct the personal information we hold about you. Contact our team and we'll respond within a reasonable period. If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au (opens in a new tab).
